Podium - The power of sport
From December 12, 2025 to May 10, 2026. De expo die laat zien wat sport over ons zegt, de nous het nu beoefenen de ernaar kijken!
Is sport just sport?
It relaxes us, ignites us or annoys us. It can also transport us or revolt us, reminding us of good or bad memories. One thing is certain: sport leaves no one indifferent. A playground or a battleground, it is above all a mirror of ourselves and our societies. What does it tell us about ourselves when we practice it or when we watch it? When we win or when we lose?
Of course, power dynamics are at play. Sport is not immune to racism, sexism, homophobia or discrimination. It has sometimes been co-opted by authoritarian regimes to impose their ideas. But sport is also about joy, overcoming challenges and shared emotion. Commitment, respect, solidarity, fair play, humility, team spirit… These values are at the heart of the sporting ideal, but how do they translate into our lives? How can they inspire us to build a fairer society? And ultimately, what does it mean to 'win'?
From December 2025, at the heart of the former Bains de la Sauvenière, the Territories of Memory invite you to discover Podium, a unique exhibition about sport and with sport. Through a playful and motivating scenography for young and old, this exhibition will allow you to relive, both past and present, many stories and beautiful sporting moments.
An exhibition to approach the sporting field as a possibility of the worst, but also and above all as hope for the best.
