Expo | Felien Tytgat & Lars Joosten, Felien’s collega: Form interlude
31.01 > 01.02 2026
Felien's colleague arises from the meeting of two perspectives, rooted in a shared curiosity. With a common background in jewellery and jewellery design, Felien Tytgat and Lars Joosten explore the interaction between clothing and jewellery, where one constantly influences the other.
In their practice, a garment can serve as a starting point for a piece of jewellery, while a jewellery technique in turn determines the cut, detail, or construction. Thus, a continuous dialogue is established between the two disciplines. Each piece reflects a conversation between material, form, and technique, where jewellery and clothing complement and shape each other.
With Felien's colleague, they aim to question the conventional boundaries of fashion and jewellery design. By playing with layering, ambiguity, and unexpected connections, a harmony emerges that goes beyond mere aesthetics. The name Felien's colleague reflects this duality: one is named, the other is present; together, they create something that transcends the individual.
The Form interlude collection, a collaboration between Felien Tytgat and Lars Joosten, refers to a moment of transformation where forms meet, influence each other, and acquire new meaning. Inspired by the idea of an intermezzo in music or theatre, a phase of transition where elements merge and evolve, the project explores the fluid relationship between clothing and jewellery.
In this collection, jewellery is no longer considered as accessories supporting clothing. On the contrary, the two elements become interdependent and together form an integrated whole. By deliberately blurring the boundaries between clothing and jewellery, a space for new interpretations is created, and both disciplines continue to exist in a permanent interaction.
The exhibition takes place in the church of Laak and is free.
